The idea of creating Pivdennyi belongs to Petro Pysarchuk, a well-known Ukrainian businessman, who started the construction of small trade facilities in the swampy area of Sknylivskyi alleys of the city of Lviv in 1996.

At that time, no one could believe that this wasteland would soon become a true decoration of the city and a vivid example of successful management and business in independent Ukraine. Since 2010, a number of building reconstructions, construction of new public infrastructure facilities, construction of sports, educational and entertainment facilities have taken place in the complex Pivdennyi. Thanks to the correct organization of work, Pivdennyi began to develop rapidly, and the number of people wishing to open their own business on Pivdennyi increased several times, more than 1,000 representatives of small and medium-sized businesses work here.
A well-known philanthropist Petro Pysarchuk built a wonderful Hutsul-style wooden church on Pivdennyi at his own expense with the aim of reviving the cultural and spiritual heritage of Galicia, in 2002.

Pivdennyi also joined the development of the educational sector in Lviv. The first children’s pre-school “Divosvit”, which was built in Lviv during the years of Ukraine’s independence, opened precisely on the territory of Pivdennyi. Later, an elementary school and a lyceum were built. Now these educational institutions are combined into a modern, technically equipped, exemplary educational complex, in which children can study from the age of 3 until they complete secondary education.
